Lídia Jorge

Lídia Jorge (born June 18, 1946) is a Portuguese writer.

Born in Boliqueime, Algarve, she graduated in Romance Languages and Literature at the University of Lisbon, becoming a secondary school teacher. In 1970, she went on a teaching mission to Africa (Angola and Mozambique), becoming an eye-witness to the Portuguese Colonial War.
