Copyrighted This fair use image or media file should be replaced with a smaller version to comply with Wikipedia's fair use policy and United States copyright law. According to Wikipedia's fair use policy, the amount of copyrighted work used under fair use should be as little as possible. In particular, fair use media on Wikipedia should not be usable as substitutes for the original work. A high-resolution fair use image is considered a copyright violation and may be deleted.

The size of an image may be reduced in an image editing program or by saving and re-uploading a suitably sized thumbnail. Once a reduced version of this file has been uploaded, please replace this template with {{Fair use reduced|~~~~~}}.

[edit] Summary

Screenshot from a promotional video (FMV) used to publicize Killzone 3 at the 2005 E3. The video was first shown on May 16, 2005, at Sony's Playstation 3 unveiling. High resolution (720p) screenshots from the video were later released by SCE to the gaming press as promotional media. Fair use rationale: These screenshots were released in high resolution format in order to demonstrate the technical potential of Sony's next console, they are taken from a pre-rendered promotional video and not any actual game build. Hosting this image at Wikipedia in no way limits the commercial viability of this game.

[edit] Licensing

Copyrighted

This is a copyrighted image that has been released by a company or organization to promote their work or product in the media, such as advertising material or a promotional photo in a press kit.

The copyright for it is most likely owned by the company who created the promotional item or the artist who produced the item in question; you must provide evidence of such ownership. Lack of such evidence is grounds for deletion.

It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of promotional material

  • to illustrate the work or product being discussed;
  • where the image is unrepeatable, i.e. a free image could not be created to replace it;
  • on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,

qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Copyrights for more information.

To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
