[edit] Childhood

Ann L. Kim was born in 1978, in the Year of the Horse. She was born in Van Nuys, California. She did not have any siblings and thus had to resort to playing board games by herself. Though an avid reader, her favorite past-time was not reading, but rather, eating. Thus she had a big belly which was documented in a rare color photograph which has been rumoured to have existed but is now being sought after by archeological authorities.

[edit] Junior High School

Ann met many friends in junior high including Jenny Sauk and Joyce Liu. They did not date boys because they thought boys were not interesting at that time. She was a member of the student council, or so says her T-shirt. This was the peak of Ann's towering domination over young boys and girls as her superhuman height allowed her to look down on all of her pre-pubescent peers. This feeling of superiority would persist for many years despite the fact that she would no longer be taller than other people.

[edit] High School

She attended Van Nuys High School as part of a science magnet program and worked on the school newspaper. She attended summer nerd camps and made many nerd camp friends. They often thought about playing violin together. She worked very hard and with the support of her parents she was able to sleep far fewer hours than a normal teenager would normally be able to tolerate. These habits would later be undone.

[edit] College

Ann attended Stanford University from 1995-1999, majoring in American Studies. Although intitially pursuing a pre-medical track, Ann's inherent interest in social justice, policy, and the uniqueness of the American ethnic and social fabric led her to pursue journalism. During this time her she worked as a journalist in the Washington D.C. Bureau of the Los Angeles Times. After writing for the Stanford Daily, she worked as its Managing Editor which required many sacrifices on the part of her dutiful boyfriend, Kevin Yee. It as also during this period that Ann chose one year to cut her hair shorter than normal, thus initiating the first major conflict in her relationship with her boyfriend.

[edit] Career

After college, Ann was a selectee of the Los Angeles Times Metpro Journalist training program. She worked as a general assignment repoter for the Los Angeles times Metro as well as Orange County Bureau. During this time she lived in various corporate apartments which usually contained beds which swiveled out from the wall. This was very exciting. She covered the Y2K Pasadena Rose Parade which was not cancelled by any armageddon or freak breakdown of society caused by Y2K which proved disappointing to her boyfriend. However they were able to meet many nice Wisconsin people who ware bright red plaid pants who wanted beer carts to be pushed through the streets of Los Angeles.

Ann later was transferred via the Los Angeles Times/Tribune Company to work for their newspaper Newsday in Long Island, New York. Here she served as primarily an education reporter and was able to live in Park Slope, Brooklyn. During this year she rescued her boyfriend and a motley crew of travelers from an air force base after his JetBlue plane was grounded during the September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center Towers. She managed to sneak her Toyota Camry back in to the city despite martial law. She eventually had to write many obituaries which proved to be very emotionally draining.

[edit] Law School

Soon after she returned to California and attended the UC Hastings School of Law for one year and was a student of Professor Walsh. She clerked for Justine Maxmin of the California State Court of Appeals. Eventually she transferred to the UC Berkeley School of Law where she was involved heavily with the Boalt Hall Death Penalty Clinic where she met many inspirational colleagues who would later influence her career. This would mark the beginning of her practice of using people's full first and last name when addressing them. This would also mark the use of a long trend of "mitigation file" humour. It was during this period she inherited the Harvey Nigila singing doll.

In the spring of 2004 after a prolonged 7.5 year courtship she finally aggreed to marry Kevin Yee, who had just finished medical school. They exchanged vows in the Winter of 2004 at a small Chinese/Korean family affair in a Korean catholic church in Rowland Heights, California.

Prior to his medical career Dr. Yee was a founding member of the Scient Corporation, a $2 billion consulting company. He also was instrumental in the creation of the Health and Wellness Business Group. He also attended Stanford University - later going to the UC San Francisco School of Medicine and now practices internal medicine at the Harvard affiliated Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

[edit] Nesting

In the summer of 2005 Ann Kim finally joined her spouse in Boston. Although she inwardly knew that she was right and that he should not have left California for his medical residency, she knew that she would have to tolerate his need to leave Caliornia and that in doing so she could gain full domination over the relationship and build enough SPOUSE points so that she could make all decisions in the future. She took the Massachusetts State Bar Exam in August 2005 then proceeded to fly to Thailand, leaving her spouse to toil in the Medical ICU night shift schedule, pining for her to return so that she could watch The Daily Show with her.

It was during this time that her spouse realized that for her birthday he would create an encyclopedic entry for her in the world famous and universally useful Wikepedia for her as a birthday present so that she could see and receive her present thousands of miles away.

At this point there remain a number of unresolved activities awaiting her return to the United States:

  • Starting work at Ropes and Gray
  • resuming her revisionist crusade of the daily living pattern of her spouse
  • slowly replacing pieces of furniture until they are all brushed metal
  • finding a replacement zero calorie flavored drink that meets her specifications
  • many episodes of the Daily Show
  • Planning for childrens and how to convince them to not become Republicans
