Kyphoscoliosis

Kyphoscoliosis describes an abnormal curvature of the spine in both a coronal and sagittal plane. It is a combination of kyphosis and scoliosis.

  • Back braces can control moderate deformities.
  • Surgical correction is attempted in some to fix spine and arrest progression of the deformity.
  • Oxygen on long term may be necessary in patients with significant hypoxemia.
