Kym Lardner is an Australian childrens author, illustrator, and storyteller.

Lardner's first picture book, The Sad Little Monster and the Jelly Bean Queen, was published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1981. After his first book was published, Lardner began booking appearances at elementary schools where he would tell original stories, creating art, and performing music. In addition to two self-produced video productions, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation has produced live recordings of Lardner's appearances which are published on compact disc.

Hodders has sold 130,000 copies of Lardner's works. [citation needed]

Lardner's has authored the following books:

  • Grandpa's Horses (1986)
  • Arnold the Prickly Teddy (1989)
  • The Coat-hanger Horse (1992)

In addition, Lardner illustrated Jezza, written by Krista Bell in 1991.
