Kyle Afferent Body

Kyle Afferent Body, or KAB indicates the structure of the brain that allows empathic and telepathic communication in the Saga of the Skolian Empire books by Catherine Asaro.
This brain organ is nano-sized in most psions, and in some cases of powerful psions, the organ is even microscopic. Structures called paras receive signals from the KAB and translate them into thoughts. The strength of an individual's ability to send/receive thoughts and emotions is measured using a KAB rating.
