KVGS, broadcasting at 107.9 FM in Las Vegas, Nevada, is a radio station broadcasting modern rock music. The station is branded as Area 108.
The station is licensed to Laughlin, Nevada with its transmitter just outside of Dolan Springs, AZ. The station has a full power class C transmitter, and a 78 watt booster on Black Mountain in Henderson, NV to help fill in the signal in metro Las Vegas. The station has been broadcasting since October of 2005.
Personalities on the station include, Gonzo In The Morning with Gonzo Gregg and Nicole Padberg. Middays with Larry Mac. Afternoon drive with Dennis Huff, and nights with Violet.
Before the current format, 107.9 was V-108, launced in 2002 at first as an Rhythmic Top 40 formatted station. Months later, it shifted to an Urban Adult Contemporary format which lasted for three years.
