KVCW (channel 33 analog, 29 digital) is the Las Vegas, Nevada affiliate of the The CW, owned and operated by the Sinclair Broadcast Group.

KVCW began on July 30, 1989 as KFBT an independent UHF station, broadcasting on channel 33 and Prime Cable channel 6. KFBT gained much acclaim through the 1980s as a firmly local station, retaining such features as the scary B-movie night "Saturday Fright at the Movies," hosted by Count Cool Rider, which aired at 10:00 p.m. According to the KFBT website, the station primarily broadcast older programming during this era as well as pro wrestling, most notably World Class Championship Wrestling and the NWA.

KFBT became a WB affiliate at the network's launch in 1995. After the Sinclair Broadcasting Group purchased KUPN in 1997 and setup a local marketing agreement with KFBT, the station lost its WB affiliation to the newly rebranded KVWB (now KVMY) on March 1, 1998 and returned to being an independent station. KFBT re-branded to "Gold 33" and began showing mainly newer syndicated programming. Several years later, Sinclair purchased KFBT outright.

Starting in 2003, KFBT and KVWB began a news department, which was part of Sinclair's "News Central" operation. KFBT's newscast aired at 7:00 p.m. The news department was shut down in March 2006. On December 18, 2006, KVCW will launch "News 3 at 10 on the CW", which is produced by KVBC, the local NBC affiliate.

With KVWB affiliating with MyNetworkTV and UPN affiliate KTUD-CA becoming independent in the fall, it was only likely that KFBT would affiliate with The CW. It was confirmed on May 2, 2006 that KFBT would affiliate with The CW in September 2006.

KFBT changed its call letters to KVCW on June 19, 2006.

KVCW temporarily rejoined The WB during the network's last two weeks, as KVMY had dropped the network in favor of MyNetworkTV programming.
