Kutaber (woreda)

Kutaber is one of the 105 woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Debub Wollo Zone, Kutaber is bordered on the south by Dessie Zuria, on the west by Tenta, on the north by Amba Sel, and on the east by Tehuledere. The major town in Kutaber is Kutaber.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 171,905, of whom 88,125 were males and 83,780 were females; 4,931 or 2.87% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 12.4%. With an estimated area of 949.08 square kilometers, Kutaber has an estimated population density of 181.1 people per square kilometer, which is greater than the Zone average of 173.56.[1]
