Hi, I've dropped the Wikiproject California tag from the Knowledge management article - I just cannot see any connection to the state, explicit or implicit. Please let me know if there was some logic behind this; I'm assuming it just slipped in. Kuru talk 14:12, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

- 'On topic' is one criteria covered at the external link guidelines I've already provided you a link to. A site that is composed of mostly ads with a few links to some software has absolutely nothing to add to an article about Freeware and simply seems promotional. Please feel free to place a link to your site at the dmoz.org directory site already linked from that article. Kuru talk 02:56, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi Kuru, Where would I put (link deleted)Share Investor New Zealand and how it would relate to information on Wiki? It must fit somewhere. I see other commercial sites(mine is not)having appropriate links and your own page has many links to your own interests.
Im curious...
Regards, Darren Rickard
- Thanks for asking for further information. You appear to be posting links to your personal forum to many articles which have some passing relation to topics your site covers. Since the forum would appear to have been recently created, it is not a notable resource that would assist people in those topics. It is also not a good idea to post links to your own sites, as this would appear to simply be a promotional activity. Please take some time out and add content to the articles, not links to your site. Thanks. Kuru talk 00:40, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Definitely, this section is in need of attention from an expert on the subject !
You called "google ads linkfarm" a web site (costkiller.net) about B2B cost-cutting with thousand of stories and case studies in english and french. This ROI external link is useful and there is also a ROI IT section in this portal.

- There is a handful of content specific to the subject matter, several articles cobbled together from other sources, many unattributed, and a dozen or so google ads which overwhelm the actual links. If you are concerned about the state of the article at Rate of return, please feel free to add referenced material to it or copyedit it, but please do not add links simply to promote your site. You can read Wikipedia's policy on external links when you get an opportunity. Kuru:
The link to jlenders.com is spam. The website is owned by a company called EastLand Mortgage at http://www.eastlandmortgage.com and the "NY mortgage" link on the jlenders.com page leads directly to them. They disguised the page in a way to make it "appear" to be some type of portal when in fact it is nothing more than spam site to drive clients looking for financial assistance in NY to their site.
Here is their registrant information: ec101 Inc.
Admin Contact () 516-728-7500 Fax: 601 Jericho Tpk. Syosset, NY 11791 US
Their corporate address is listed at the top of their page -> www.eastlandmortgage.com and matches the registrant info.

Hi,
I'd like to know why you removed the commentary on State Farm Insurance page. Especially when the vandalism were commited by state farm employees. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 124.180.208.5 (talk • contribs) .
- You can read my response on the talk page of the user who left the comment here. In summary, random commentary about the article or about other users is more appropriate for the talk page of the article, or, in this case, on the talk pages of the users you are having a dispute with. Simply leaving an individual vandalism related warning on their pages suffices. Please let me know if you have any other questions, or if I can help you find those talk pages. [edit] Lally
Hello Kuru: The Consumer Value Index that we publish is made available to all major editors in the financial and business media. The CPI became unreliable to consumers about 10 years ago when the policymakers started to use hedonic adjustments. What this has done is lower the annual number from what really is going on with "prices". This has been discussed for the passed several years by Congress, Bill Gross (PIMCO), the AARP and many financial analysts. To help consumers get a more honest look at what the economy is doing to them, this index called the "Lally Consumer Value Index" (LCVI) was created and distributed. It would seem appropriate to include a note in your CPI page to make consumers aware of this tool to help them become more independent in investing and managing their lifestyle.
Regards: Eugene F. Lally
- That's fantastic, Mr. Lally. I'm sure you're doing a great job of constructing your index and doing your best to relay it to consumers. Unfortunately, Wikipedia is probably not the best avenue for communicating this information. We are bound by a few core policies that make it difficult to accept your work in either the Consumer price index article, or in an article of your own. The primary problem is that of verification - there simply appears to be no independent confirmation that such an index exists. I was unable to find any reference to it whatsoever. The second problem is that it would appear to be original research, it is simply your personal take on a problem. There are several 'guideline' issues that are problems as well, but please try to understand that this is really a vehicle for encyclopedic entries on notable topics; it's nothing personal, and I'm sure your work is solid. I would encourage you to continue to improve existing articles by improving content and adding material in a neutral manner. There are many other ways to get the word out on LCVI - blogs, portals, etc. Let me know if there is any way I can help you. Kuru talk 03:30, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

- Dear Kuru:

- Not sure how/where to respond but thank you for the note about our Consumer Value Index. I will follow your lead and work other avenues. Appreciate your help. I am not handy with navigating on Wiki so please forgive me, but hope to learn.
- E. Lally
[edit] Eh, excuse me...
But I was merely trying to reverse the edit to South Park back to it's original state, rather than vandalize it. This is because it had been done several times over, and I reverted it to one of the earlier vandalizations. I was attempting to reverse it back to it's oldest format. --205.250.14.232 04:11, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- It happens - reverting back to a previous vandalized version is indistinguishable from actual vandalism. Please be careful! I'll drop the warning from your talk page. Good luck! Kuru talk 04:16, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] StockWrap Express Chart
Hi MER-C I refer you to the following points which were not addressed:
- A page has been created for TA software as per Technical Analysis Software, and admins have contested every software placed on this page? what is the point of a TA software page if every article is contested?
- Requested assistance for rewrite of the article yet no help has been offered.
- "You have not demonstrated why this software is notable. MER-C 08:54, 28 November 2006 (UTC)" - I again refer you to Merchant of Venice (computer program) by Brick Thrower - who is a notable java programmer and the program is written in java. Furthermore, I see no evidence that this meets proposed guidelines either under Critera - How is the StockWrap page created any different from this ?
Thanks —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 60.241.205.210 (talk • contribs) .
- Your concerns were addressed by User:MER-C at the debate on your page at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/StockWrap Express Charts. To sum up: Wikipedia is not a vehicle to promote your software. I would love to help you dress up your article, but I can't get past the fact that it simply does not seem all that notable. I can't see any way it meets our informal guidelines on the topic, and I don't see anything special outside of that. If you see other articles which also fail this criteria, we can debate those as well. I'm very, very sorry if this all seems like your program is being picked on, we're simply trying to avoid Wikipedia becoming a random directory of every program out there. Kuru talk 13:31, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response Kuru. I guess we thought the software was considered notable because it really is a comprehensive platform that is offered completely free of charge to TA traders. Not many other packages offer same features etc etc. In accordance with notable however, it doesnt get there - but our consideration was to the Technical Analysis Software and users of Technical Analysis Software, more than anything. Either way thanks for the comments and discussion. User:StockWrap 13:31, 29 November 2006 (GMT)

[edit] Articles for creation
Kuru, I'm the guy who proposed the articles, "Paul is Dead" clues from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and "Paul is Dead" clues from Magical Mystery Tour earlier. The reason I proposed these articles is because the existing "Paul is dead" article is currently 42 kilobytes long. Transferring the content of the clues subsections to new articles would significantly reduce the size of the main article -- permanently. 71.96.141.116 4:49 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- I see! I figured there was some reason behind that. I'll back out the declines. Kuru talk 04:57, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Clearer(?) (as clear an article aboun advanced communication, laser and gravitational wave measurement can be(!)),
Wikified and more explanatory, I believe is now a stronger candidate for Wikipedia. Please check again.
Thanks!
Btw, please don't be too cruel- it is only my 1st article, and I saw it on most wanted for the last two years by wikipedia - so I decided to take my chance.

[edit] Business Process
I noted that you removed the "Under construction" note from the History section in the Business Process article. This is ok for me, if you consider this section as being appropriate now. However, I might add some additional sub-sections to elaborate on that topic. Regards, --Kai a simon 22:37, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- Articles/sections are always under construction; and I certainly think your interim product is sufficiently stable - aside from the buzzword complaint from another editor. There's a {{Underconstruction}} template you can use, but it's really for warning other editors that you're making significant revisions over a short period of time to avoid edit conflicts. As you've had the notice up for three weeks or so, it just didn't seem useful to convert to the template. Just keep making the excellent additions and expansions you've been making. Kuru talk 03:31, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- The buzzword tag was already there before I made my first edit. I suggested to remove it (on the talk page), but haven't received any feedback. Is is feasible to remove it myself, if I believe that the complaint is no longer valid?

[edit] Laurence James
Ok, the request to add Laurence James was a little odd. Apparently he's one of many authors that use the shared "house name" of James Axler to publish their books, but he's also published several books on his own. Do you know the precedent for this type of arrangement? He seems semi-notable on his own - would love feedback. Kuru talk 02:13, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- I don't have strong feelings. Feel free to get rid of the merge request. My concern was that his article says nothing about him except that he used this name. Maybe you could make the article about him say that he wrote other books? NickelShoe (Talk) 02:17, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- Since it's a request from WP:AFC, my enthusiasm approximates yours. I will add the additional information I found while verifying the source, add a few refs, and drop the merge request. Hopefully the anon will notice the activity and join up to flesh out the remainder of the article. :) Kuru talk 02:23, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
