Talk:Kurmi
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Most of the titles(surnames) with hyperlinks are of other castes being adopted by these people recently.Fraudulent claims I must say
Kurmis that are true kurmis can be told apart by teir physical attributes. It is in 1910 they tried to raise their social status to get benefit under the Sanskritisation syndrome. Various anthropologists have said that they are not of Caucasiod race.Their physical features, like black colour, thick nose, short height, eye ridges, thick lipsetc. resemble to the Australoids.Yes they have some Caucasiods feature. This is due to the admixture with the neighboring aryan castes. - Now it is genetically proved Kurmis are of Australoids race. - Pls refer http://www.ias.ac.in/jgenet/Vol83No1/049.pdf
Most Rajputs look genetically like they are tribals. Obviously there has been a tremendous amount of genetic mixing. Most Patels, Singhs, Sinhas, Reddy's etc. look quite Aryan. North Indian Kurmis are quite tall.
- Kurmi is a sanskrit word, derived from Karmi. (contributed by user NSINGH restored from history)
Any fool can see by Kurmis' features that they cannot be Aryans.
Guys, lets not mess around and try to use bad wrods for other castes. Please only publish relvent information.
Hello people. Rama and Krishna were BOTH DARK SKINNED, and they were considered Arya. And yes, they are Kurmis. Buddha was fair skinned.
kurmis are found in chotanagpur region who are black but most of the north indian(Bihar and UP) are fair skinned. The black skin of chhotanagpur may be attributed to mixing with local indigeneous tribes. The other features of aryans i.e sharp body features are found in kurmis of the north india with the sufficient fair skin.
Lord budhha and Rama were sure for kurmi because there is no other caste in that region which can even claim this. Rajput is a new caste relative to vedic kshatriyas and mainly consis of Scythians , parthians and other invaders who were later included into the hindu society by the Brahmins to form a new class. The reason for this is the non acceptance of Brahmins by vedic kshatriyas. The lord Buddha and other openly preached against Brahminism and major part of Bihar and Up was under the Buddhist rule.
