Kurt Saxon, born Donald Eugene Sisco on March 6, 1932, is often credited with starting the "Practical Survivalist Movement." This is the idea of being prepared to deal with the breakdown of society and the events there after. He started this idea in the early 1960s after moving around with his family quite a bit. He is also an accomplished author, with many survival and paramilitary books including his well known The Poor Man's James Bond series. These books contained various recipes for both medicine and poison, engineering plans for weapons and even tips on how to slash budgets and cut down on bills. All of these were learned by Kurt as he grew up and out of the Great Depression. Even though he has been titled as controversial, he remains open to all walks of life and has no preferences to politics, religion or race. He is the host of a short wave radio show and does, somewhat frequently grant interviews. Kurt also still writes, and has his own webpage on which he posts new information relavent to survivalism in modern society. Currently, he resides in the town of Alpena, Arkansas and still does teach survivalism, though recently this has become less frequent.
