[edit] Signing articles

KunalKathuria,

I also wanted to welcome you to Wikipedia. I wanted to thank you for creating the Neutron Detection article. Honestly, I'm kind of surprised there wasn't one already. In any case, I wanted to note a point of Wikiquette to you: we don't sign articles here. For one, the page history records all the changes to the article so it is very clear who created what...and because articles are a collaborative effort, an author block would soon become unmanageable.

I'm going to take a quick pass through your article and do some wikifiying. :) --Syrthiss 03:37, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

Ah, thanks Syrthiss. I'm having trouble right now deciding where to put wikilinks in my page. Could you help me wikify here, please? Thanks a lot! (KunalKathuria 03:59, 12 December 2005 (UTC))

Not a prob. You almost have the trick of wikifying down. Wikilinks look like this [[European Muon Collaboration]] when you edit them, and appear like this European Muon Collaboration. If you want the text to appear differently, thats when you put the "|" symbol in between what you know the link is called and what you want it to appear as: [[European Muon Collaboration|EMC experiment]] shows up as EMC experiment. I see you put a few in that have the incorrect syntax, but I'm afraid I am about to disappear for tonight so either you can get the syntax down from my example here or I can fix them in the morning.
BTW - feel free to just reply here. I am watching this page now so I can continue to reply here. --Syrthiss 04:15, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
