Kull the Conqueror is a 1997 fantasy action film about the character Kull starring Kevin Sorbo. It was a movie adaptation of the Conan novel Conan the Conqueror, with the protagonist changed in the face of Arnold Schwarzenegger's refusal to reprise his role as Conan and Kevin Sorbo not wanting to redo a character already played. (This is ironic, as the very first Conan story, "The Phoenix on the Sword", was actually a rewrite of a Kull story.)
The film starts of with rock music and enters what seems to be a great fight between Kull and several of the mad King's elite legion. However, it turns out to be a test, but Kull fails it's admission test on the ground that he is not of noble blood. Kull then rides back to the city that the King and his guard are from and they find the mad King killing his heirs. The leader of the guard complains, but the mad King strikes him, before being killed by Kull. Kull is then given the crown by the dying King, knowing that many will now seek to kill Kull for it, notably the leader of the King's guard, and his cousin, both of whom are of royal blood. Kull then marries a witch who plots with the leader of the guard...
