Kull (Inheritance)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kull are the fictional elite warriors of the Urgals in Christopher Paolini's Inheritance trilogy. They have been compared to J.R.R. Tolkien's Uruk-hai.

[edit] Abilites

Kull are formiddable warriors. Although they have similar features to those of ordinary Urgals, they are over eight feet tall and too heavy for any horse to carry. Kull have the endurance to run for five days with out sleep and still be fighting fit. In battle, it takes five normal fighters to kill one.

[edit] Role in Inheritance

In Eragon, a band of Kull chases Eragon and Murtagh through the Hadarac Desert, attacking them at the gates of the Varden. Kull are also among the Urgal forces in the battle at Farthen Dûr, fighting against the dwarves and Varden.

In Eldest, Kull play a much smaller role. Before the final battle, Nar Garzhvog leads a group of Kull to the Varden. He pledges their help in the fight to bring down Galbatorix, who has tricked and manipulated their clans. This offer is reluctantly accepted.
