, in hiragana, or in katakana, and ku in Romaji with Hepburn romanisation (IPA: /ku/), is one of the Japanese kana, which each represent one mora.

This character, like the rest of the second row, may have a dakuten added. This transforms the symbol into ぐ in hiragana, グ in katakana, and gu in Romaji. The dakuten's addition also changes the sound of the syllable represented, to /gu/.

Also note that, as in the other -u kana, the 'u' sound is very subtle; unless well-articulated, this kana sounds fairly close to 'k' (or, with dakuten, 'g') alone.
