[edit] Digital television

Because it was granted an original construction permit after the FCC finalized the DTV allotment plan on April 21, 1997 [1], the station did not receive a companion channel for a digital television station. Instead, on or before February 18, 2009, which is the end of the digital TV conversion period for full-service stations, KTMW will be required to turn off its analog signal and turn on its digital signal (called a "flash-cut").

[edit] Trivia

  • Channel 20 was the home of defunct television station KSTU until 1987, when that station's license was returned to the FCC. KSTU channel 13 is a different license and briefly had the call letters KTMW on channel 13 in 1987, before the old channel 20 license was returned to the FCC.
