KSV Baunatal is a German football club based in Baunatal, Hessen. The team was founded in 1914 as part of a sports club whose roots go back to a gymnatics club called Gut Heil organized in 1892. In 1964, KSV Altenritte and KSV Altenbauna merged to form the new KSV Baunatal, which in turn absorbed SV Baunatal in 1970.
The team played in Oberliga Hessen as a III division side prior to 1992 and has since played in the IV division. They enjoyed a measure of success from 1976 to 1979 when they played three seasons in 2.Bundesliga.
The club has produced a number of players who have moved on to more senior leagues, including the Bundesliga, and places an emphasis on its junior sides.
