[edit] My Question
Wow...fast!
I am working on the page Garry_Galley and have contacted this athlete. He has scanned and emailed to me a photo of himself playing hockey that is from his own personal collection. I want to make sure that the photo is flagged properly so that it follows wiki rules. How/What do I label it as?
Thanks
- Assuming that he still owns the copyright on the image we can't use a free licence like GFDL etc. So {{Promotional}} (a Fair use) licence is probably appropriate. Just explain how you obtained it on the image page and everything will be fine.--Commander Keane 14:20, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
-
- Great! So I'll just put an explanation of how I got the photo and label it as Fair Use. Thanks for your quick response.

Sorry about the confusion, i was trying to mark multiple articles for deletion as a group based on the instructions in WP:AfD. Think i've got everything straightened out now. EricR
[edit] Deliverance
Hey, thanks for asking. No, the Simpsons reference was fine, but if you look here, you'll see that, down below, on the left, all that yellow text is additional text from the article that, for some reason, the editor deleted. That was good content, so I reverted it. By the way, if you're doing recent changes patrol, you should check out CryptoDerk's Vandal Fighter. It'll blow your socks off. Cheers, JDoorjam Talk 02:00, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- I think that someone already put the Simpsons back in. I wouldn't worry too much about the citation tag on that one: it's really hard to cite the Simpsons, and at the same time, there are enough die-hard Simpsons fans out there that, it it's false information, it'll get removed. (Unfortunately, there really are no hard and fast ruled about when to add those fact tags...) Anyway, it definitely sounds lik you're on the right track with helping out around here! I hoped that help answer your question -- drop me a line if you have any questions about this, or anything, really. JDoorjam Talk 02:09, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Toronto
Unfortunately, you added extraneous information for which the Cdn. city infobox/template isn't configured to capture, and doesn't for any other Cdn. city – for consistency and economy (as the infobox and article is already replete with too much information and in need of pruning), I removed it. And, frankly, nothing prevents you from adding this worthwhile information to the subarticle or to have done so in the first place. I will also remind you of the message below every edit page: "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly ..., do not submit it." Otherwise, I defer to my prior comments. Sorry. E Pluribus Anthony | talk | 04:28, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
- Frankly, it's a judgement call: I'm not required to carry over information that is arguably misplaced to begin with. In the time it has taken you to comment, you could've have easily acted on constructive criticism and added it to the subarticle or taken it to the talk page. If editors were more judicious in their contributions and where they did so, many articles would not grow to become as long and unwieldy as the Toronto article has become (which is also in the edit note atop that article, which you overlooked). My edit summary is more than sufficient and, beyond these comments, I will not do so on this topic further. Thanks. E Pluribus Anthony | talk | 04:51, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

- Good. As well: please do not presuppose or insinuate that you are the only one acting in good faith. I've fully explained my reasons constructively ... take them or leave them. Be more judicious with your edits. And, newbie or not, refrain from being so argumentative. E Pluribus Anthony | talk | 05:02, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
KsprayDad responds: is it argumentative to ask an editor to not remove legitimate work from a page? If I find something in the wrong place, I'll move it to the correct one, not just delete it. To bad all editors don't seem to be worried about knowledge, just format.

[edit] Re:Please block this guy forever...
Well, since the vandalism was done not within a reasonable period when the last warning was given, it would be appropriate to give another warning. If he/she continues, please add an entry to WP:AIV and an admin will take care of it. --Y.Ichiro (会話|+|投稿記録|メール) 04:04, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Toronto Twinnings
Good job on getting the correct list of twinned cities. I knew that previous list was wrong, but did not have the time or energy to put the same effort you did into getting the right list. Good work! Skeezix1000 01:53, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] TAR nickname
I've already stated in a previous edit that Ray and Yolanda used the nickname on the show on more than one occasion. I'm unclear as to why, just because I recall it and other people don't, that means it's unverified. No one else seems to get asked to provide episode numbers and time stamps and the like for their edits.
But as I told the other person who continually reverts it, I'm not interested in getting into an edit war about it. It's fine with me if it gets left out for now, I'll just wait for the GSN repeat to bear me out and then put it back in.
Have a nice day. Otto4711 08:08, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for providing a source for the wear red issue. But you will need to source the fact that TH now allows staff to wear red, as well as the claim that the resolution was brought about by radio call in shows, etc. Thanks. Skeezix1000 20:18, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
