[edit] Antonio Martinez

Thank you for starting the article. I think we may need to move it to Antonio Martínez (priest) and disambiguate it with the soccer player. Usually titles are not included in titles of biographical articles. That explains why I didn't see it until now. But you have done a good job so far. 8)--Rockero 07:15, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. Also, we should make sure that his name is the same across the wikipedia. I've seen him as both Antonio Jose and Jose Antonio (i.e. in the Simmons free-newmexican link). The former (Antonio Jose) seems more common. Murcielago 22:04, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

I look forward to your efforts. As you can see from my user contributions, New Mexican history is a favorite of mine. My only suggestions is that rather than bolding proper names, link them within wiki (as I did with Lamy in your article -- I wrote the current Lamy article on the encyclopedia). For a while we've needed a Manuel Armijo article, since he comes up again and again (see Taos Revolt, Manuel Antonio Chaves, etc.). Also, there are a few articles on New Mexicans that need serious work -- Kit Carson, and the first ever article that I wrote Ceran St. Vrain, which I have sadly neglected for a while. Again, thanks and looking forward to working with you in the future! Murcielago 16:01, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Good to have you on board. First tip: When communicating with other editors, leave your message on their talkpage (the discussion tab next to the "userpage" tab). For some NM bio-historical articles that need to be created, please see List of Governors of New Mexico, Governors of New Mexico Territory, and Spanish governors of New Mexico. If you are interested in religion, you may see ways to improve Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Santa Fe. If history is more your bag, there is plenty of work to be done on Spanish missions in New Mexico. There is currently no information on the Santa Fe Ring on wikipedia, not even in the Thomas Benton Catron article, if you'd like to help out there. And if you like, there are plenty of NM-related topics listed under "tasks" at Wikipedia:WikiProject Mexican-Americans/Chicanos. There are also many gaps in the geography of New Mexico. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I'll move Padre Martínez, but if you'd like to know how it's done, I'll be glad to explain it. PAZ, --Rockero 00:46, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New Article

Hi Kevin, apropos of your Padre Martinez article, I went ahead and started a Revolt of 1837 article. Your input on it would be appreciated. Thanks! Murcielago 16:47, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Addie Mae Collins

Redirecting the names of three different girls to one article titled after only one of the four, was inappropriate. Regards -Ste|vertigo 16:53, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Manuel Armijo

Kevin, there's now an article on Manuel Armijo up; you might find it interesting, and may want to add to it. Murcielago 16:11, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, but all glory and honor for the article go to Jerry, who also did Manuel Chaves. I did, however, make sure to mention Padre Martinez in my edits. -- Murcielago 22:27, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kathy Kelly

Hey Kevin, thanks for starting the article!--Rockero 07:26, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kathy Kelly copyright

Do you know why the Kathy Kelly article was deleted? Kevin

Kathy Kelly was deleted because it is copied from http://vitw.org/archives/424, which infringes on the copyright of that website unless permission is given by that website to re-use that text under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), or it is released into the public domain. If such permission is given, either a note may be made on that website that the text is released under that license, or an e-mail or postal message may be send to the Wikimedia Foundation (permissions(at)wikimedia(dot)org for e-mail) from an address associated with that website. Otherwise, that text may not be used on Wikipedia. If you would like to create a newly written article on this person, which does not infringe on a copyright, you may create it at Talk:Kathy Kelly/Temp and inform me when it is ready. I will then move it to the proper article space. —Centrxtalk • 15:09, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Nixonthumber.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Nixonthumber.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 20:06, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I am rather concerned

that the picture - that I believe was uploaded by you - of Juan de Oñate in his article is from the cover of Marc Simmons book The Last Conquistador]] and was painted by the artist Jose Cisneros - who as far as I know is still alive. Before the picture is removed you can make an argument as to why it is Fair Use - or ask Cisneros for permission, but please make it real soon. Carptrash 06:03, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
