KSFC

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

KSFC in Spokane, Washington is one of two stations run by Spokane Public Radio, the other being KPBX. The non-commercial outlet broadcasts at 91.9MHz with an ERP of 450W.

[edit] History

The station was started in 1968 by Richi Caldwell as part of the new broadcasting program at Spokane Falls Community College.

In 1995 SFCC eliminated the radio program to save money. KPBX, Spokane's largest public radio station and NPR affiliate, took over operation of the station, simulcasting its existing programming on the lower-powered KSFC.

On July 1, 1999, KSFC began its own lineup of news, talk, information and public affairs programming to the Spokane area. Like KPBX they too are also members of NPR, APR and PRI.
