Stepping it up, changing it up, and offering some new styles For Kryptic, the hard work they have put into their short career since their days of running The Kryptic Nation and karaoke contests have paid off handsomely. After several tries with other people and other band The Dragon & Vanilla Joe met up during a Star For A Day Karoake night at Kimmer's Bar & Grill in Green Bay, WI. Soon after the two turned to rap & rock music and, along with another friend from The Kryptic Nation, formed the hip-rock trio Kryptic. The trio went on to hook up with dj Ashtasy, for the groundbreaking, EP, "The Code (Volume 1)", out June 2006.

Kryptic's debut, THE CODE (VOLUME 1), introduced the world to THEIR influential "Hip-Rock," a seamless blend of old-school 7 new-school R&B, cutting-edge street rap & hard hitting Rock. The chart-topping singles "The Code" and "Katherine," made the Soundclick Top 200, helping the songs be heard by more than four thousand in the U.S. and six thousand worldwide.

The Dragon got his start in the music world at the age of 8, when he formed his first group, a christian rock cover group name God's Rockers. The Dragon has been writing and singing ever since, his style of music & rhymes may have changed but The Dragon is as strong a person as ever. When asked about Kryptic & what he likes the most he said "The uniqueness!" When asked about what he liked about being the frontman he added "I love to sing & write, it's all about the music" When asked how would you describe yourself? "I'm The Dragon, enough said!" The people The Dragon admires the most are Jonathan Davis of Korn & Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit.

Vanilla Joe got his start rapping and throwning down flows from his days growing up and from none other than Vanilla Ice himself! Vanilla Joe had this to say about being a frontman - "I enjoy performing my music. Whether I'm up front and loud, or quietly backing up someone else, I always have fun. That's the key." Vanilla Joe had this to say about the people he admires - "There's alot of people that I admire, but in the interest of space and time, I'd have to say that Vanilla Ice has been a big influence in my life. From his rise to fame, to the fall, and then the return to the Ice Age. His perseverance and love of the music and his fans is very inspiring for me in trying to make something of myself in this crazy industry."

[edit] Version 1.5: The Code and Forsaken Records

The band followed up their debut EP with their second album, Version 1.5: The Code, in June, 2006. The album was more successful than their first, debuting at No.3 on The Soundclick 200. The album's release featured the first live internet broadcast by the band, and thus Kryptic became the first Green Bay music artist to appear live on the internet to promote their new LP. Kryptic performed songs from the new album and took calls from internet fans watching at home. The event was hosted by longtime Kryptic friend, dj Ashtasy, known best for his remix of Astray. The online performance was one of the best and helped launch Kryptic's internet presence which soon became a predominant part of their marketing and availability to fans.

In late 2005 the band formed their own label, Forsaken Records. The first band they signed was The Kryptic Nation (featuring former members of Towle's old band 4~Saken), who became successful with their debut song on Myspace "Right 2 Die,". Over the next few months they signed such acts as Archangel, country singer ez-E, and CT.

[edit] Version 2.0: The Curse, Running Blind, and Pirates of the Karaoke

Prior to the release of the band's 3rd album, Kryptic was featured once on their friends band concerts, [[Running Blind. Kryptic was already ahead of the game by utilizing the internet to reach their fans. August 2006 saw Kryptic at their peak as they released their third album, Version 2.0: The Curse. It is generally recognized as their breakthrough album, and the album that ultimately ushered Hip-Rock into the mainstream. It featured a number of guest vocalists such as Archangel, ez-E from the The Kryptic Nation and Chris Fisher of Elvis Quagmire. Kryptic launched a whirlwind political campaign-style tour (from August 17, 2006 in Green Bay through September 1 on Myspace) to promote the release of Version 2.0: The Curse.
