Krum is a city in Denton County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,979 at the 2000 census.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 1,979 people, 681 households, and 561 families residing in the city. The population density was 389.8/km² (1,007.7/mi²). There were 703 housing units at an average density of 138.5/km² (358.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 93.43% White, 0.25% African American, 0.40% Native American, 0.51% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 2.63% from other races, and 2.73% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.95% of the population.
There were 681 households out of which 46.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.3% were married couples living together, 9.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.5% were non-families. 14.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.90 and the average family size was 3.19.
In the city the population was spread out with 30.2% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 35.1% from 25 to 44, 19.9% from 45 to 64, and 6.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 90.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.4 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $52,778, and the median income for a family was $57,650. Males had a median income of $40,278 versus $28,527 for females. The per capita income for the city was $21,642. About 1.6% of families and 2.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 0.7% of those under age 18 and 6.0% of those age 65 or over.

Krum is served by the Krum Independent School District [1], which is a UIL Class AA school. There are four public schools located in Krum; Hattie Dyer Elementary School, Blanche Dodd Intermediate, Krum Middle School and Krum High School. It is one of the few Class AA schools that does not play football; however, its boys basketball team is among the best in Class AA. Plans are currently in the works for a major bond election (due to recent growth) that would add a football stadium to the school, and add football as a sport beginning in 2007 with 6th grade, with full participation by 2011 at the high school level.
