Talk:Kromagg
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm disappointed that this article, even after an expansion, fails to state that the Kromaggs undergo an unexplained change physically (as well as some of aspects to their collective character) between "Invasion" and their reappearance in the fourth season on out. In their first episode, Arturo states a ficticious theory about a race of killer apes (again, fiction as far as I'm aware) that lost the evolutionary race, evidently on every world except at least one. Also, in that episode, the Kromaggs had more noticable simian features, where as they look nothing like apemen in their latter incarnation. And in fact, I don't think their connection to apes are even commented on by anyone in the last two seasons. I also think that their should be an image of the original Kromaggs so that people can compare and contrast.
I would do this myself except for two reasons: one is that I simply hate the revamped Kromaggs so I fear that there would be a POV issue that I'd take into editing it. The other is that I'm just not sure as to how to integrate this into the existing content while keeping the continuity of the article intact, especially as I haven't paid much attention to the added-in things of the latter Kromaggs' backstory. --Bacteria 18:13, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
Hey. If you want to add something just go ahead and add it. We can work it out together around continuity and things. In Invasion there was an interesting mention about the Kromagg's living in great cities in the trees of their homeworld, which I thought would be worth mentioning as far as culture and things go, but wasn't sure where to put it. I basically just rearranged what was already in the article and expanded some details. As far as an image of the 'original' Kromaggs goes, I just put up an image of a Kromagg as they've been seen throughout seasons 4 and 5. It's the most recognised appearance.
[edit] Disputed
I question the accuracy of the following passage:
- The Kromaggs possess "psychic" abilities. Though they cannot read minds, Kromaggs have the ability to project illusions and plant post-hypnotic suggestions into human minds. They can also force data out of people's minds by touch similar to Vulcan mindmeld except it is a one sided conversation.
I thought the Kromaggs can read minds. In the episode "Mother and Child", I remember a Kromagg searching through a human's head and successfully read his mind. Q0 04:22, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Krogmagg = Cro-Magnon?
I haven't seen that much from the show, but from what the article describes and from the name itself, the obvious implication seems to be that the "kromaggs" are Cro-Magnon man. Yet I see no mention of this at all in the article. Pimlottc 18:32, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- It's an obivious nod, but it's not an implication to the origin. The Kromaggs evolved from an entirely ficticious race of "killer apes," one, as Arturo conjecturs in "Invasion", killed early man before it could evolve into Cro-Magnon. --Bacteria 06:13, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
