Kristian S. Cordero

Born in April, 1983 in Iriga City, Kristian Sendon Cordero attended San Miguel Elementary School, University of Saint Anthony and took Bachelor of Arts Major in Philosophy at the Holy Rosary Minor Seminar in 2003.
Kristian Cordero's works have gained favorable criticisms from Philippine literary critics. His poetry has also been subject for critical analysis and thesis dissertations in various universities in Bikol region, e.g. Ateneo de Naga University, Universidad de Santa Isabel, University of Nueva Caceres, University of Saint Anthony in Iriga City, Aquinas University of Legazpi and even among the students of University of the Philippines.
He has also written poetry with social commentaries particularly on the issue of tenancy in Hacienda Luisita and the problem of the educational system in the Philippines. The poems were anthologized in two chapbooks published in Manila.
In January 2004, he launched his first book, MGA TULANG TULALA: Piling Tula sa Filipino, Bikol at Rinconada (Goldprint Publishing House), and his second poetry collection SANTIGWAR, Mga Rawitdawit sa Bikol asin Filipino in middle of 2006. (Goldprint Publishing House, 2006).
He writes a column titled Smoldering Wick in the BicolMail paper.
