KrisFlyer

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

KrisFlyer is the frequent flyer programme of Singapore Airlines and its subsidiary Silkair. It has three levels/tiers of membership (six levels if PPS levels are included):

Contents

[edit] KrisFlyer

[edit] KrisFlyer (Blue)

This membership level gives the member almost no privileges. It only allows the member to earn miles to qualify for Elite status or PPS Status, and redeem miles for free travels. Members of Krisflyer between 2 to 12 year of age will be enrolled automatically to Young Explorer Club.

[edit] KrisFlyer Elite Silver

Once a member achieves 25,000 Elite Miles, he/she will automatically be a member of Elite Silver. It has privileges, such as 25% bonus on miles that can be redeemed for free flights, priority waitlist and airport standby, and reduced or waived service fees.

Elite miles will reset once a year. If somebody who is currently a member of Elite Silver does not achieve the 25,000 Elite Miles required to re-qualify within a year, his/her status will be downgraded to regular Krisflyer.

[edit] KrisFlyer Elite Gold

This status will be awarded to Krisflyer member when he/she achieved 50,000 Elite Miles. It has all of privileges that members of Krisflyer Elite Silver enjoys, plus additional privileges, such as 20kg extra baggages, Star Alliance Gold lounges all around the world (note that some SilverKris lounges are not Star Alliance Gold lounges, such as lounges in Singapore, Adelaide), priority check-in (member can use Business/Raffles Class check-in area when travelling in Economy Class or First Class check-in area when travelling on Business/Raffles Class), priority boarding, priority baggage handling ("Priority Tag"), and priority phone service.

Elite miles will reset once a year. If somebody who is currently a member of Elite Gold does not achieve the 50,000 Elite Miles required to re-qualify within a year, his/her status will be downgraded to KrisFlyer Elite Silver or even regular KrisFlyer.

[edit] PPS Club

PPS is an abbreviation of Priority Passenger Service, but this long format is never used. This status (and all other PPS status - Solitaire, and Lifetime) is achievable only by flying business class or First Class on Singapore Airlines, and business class on SilkAir only. Members must fly 25 sectors or 50,000 PPS miles to qualify. The same requirement is required to requalify. It has all of the benefits of Elite Gold status, plus the use of Raffless/Business class area when travelling in Economy and the use of First class area when travelling in First class and Business/Raffles Class in Silver Kris Lounges and Star Alliance Gold lounge. The baggage limit is increased by 100%, so if a member for example travel in Economy class (20kg), his/her baggage allowance will be 40kg. PPS members are guaranteed a seat in economy class if making a booking in a full first or business class.

[edit] Solitaire PPS

Becoming a Solitaire PPS Members means that the member can use First class areas (check-in and lounges). A supplementary Solitaire PPS status for the spouse of the member is given, but depends on the status of the member (if the member loses his/her status, so does his/her spouse). To qualify, 500,000 of PPS miles or 250 PPS sectors is required. To requalify, the requirements are the same as PPS club members.

[edit] Lifetime Solitaire PPS

1,875,000 PPS Club credited flight miles or 1,000 PPS Club flight sectors is required. No requalification is needed. This status will apply for lifetime. It has the benefit of Solitaire PPS.

Miles earned last for a maximum of 3 years and must be used, regardless of subsequent miles earned during that time. Miles can be extended for 6 months once for US$20 per 1,000 miles.
