KreyNet
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
KreyNet is the largest BeNeLux based IRC network.[citation needed] It was established on 7 October 1998 by Marburg as a chatbox for the Belgian magazine HUMO, running on a single conference room ircd. Soon, the server was replaced with a version of IRCNet's ircd, running on a linux machine, when topradio joined the network.
Growing quickly, the network includes VRT, VTM, SkyNet, Chat.be, Zeelandnet and some others in 2001.
KreyNet is running their own ircd called 'vantage', a IRCNet IRCD tweaked by 'Egg'. It offers channel services under the nickname K, written by 'Egg'. K operates on a handle basis; A handle is independent from a nickname, which can NOT be registered.
