Krasnoye Selo may also refer to a village formerly known as Hohensalzburg in Kaliningrad Oblast

Krasnoye Selo (Russian: Кра́сное Село́, Beautiful Village) (59°44′N 30°5′E) is a municipal town in Krasnoselsky District of the federal city of St. Petersburg, Russia. It is located south-south-east of the city center. Population: 44,081 (2002 Census).

Krasnoye Selo was founded in the early 1800s. In 1884, the famous airplane designer Alexander Mozhayskiy tested his early monoplane there, achieving a power-assisted take off or 'hop' of 60-100 feet (20-30 meters).

Krasnoye Selo was granted town status in 1925, and in 1973 it was transferred under jurisdiction of Leningrad.
