KPND
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
KPND, which bills itself as "Progressive Radio for the inland North West", is an Adult Album Alternative outlet licensed to Sandpoint, Idaho. The station, which broadcasts at 95.3MHz on the FM dial, is planning to target the Spokane, Washington area in 2006 when it increases its ERP from 9.8kw to 56kw.
When KPND enters its new market in Spokane, it will force local community station KYRS-LP, "Thin Air Radio" off the air. Because KYRS is a low-power FM station, it has secondary status to full power radio stations like KPND. This situation is referred to as encroachment.
This is a live DJ station, one of the few independent radio stations left in the US. The on air personalities are professional, and dedicated.
