Kowloon (Chinese: 九龍站; Cantonese IPA: /kɐʊ35 ləʊŋ11 tsɑm22/; Jyutping: gau2 lung4 zaam5; Mandarin Pinyin: Jiǔlóng Zàn) is a station on Tung Chung Line and the Airport Express of Hong Kong's MTR. Only about 10,000 passengers use this station daily, making it one of the least used stations in the MTR system.

This station provides an in-town Check In service for the Hong Kong International Airport and free shuttle bus services to most major hotels in the Tsim Sha Tsui and Yau Ma Tei areas.

[edit] Platforms

Upper Level

  • Platform 1: Airport Express to Airport and Asia-World Expo
  • Platform 2: Airport Express to Hong Kong (alight only)

Lower Level

  • Platform 3: Tung Chung Line to Tung Chung and Disneyland Resort Line
  • Platform 4: Tung Chung Line to Hong Kong

As with other Airport Express stations, the Airport Express and Tung Chung line are separated by different concourses and different levels. Platform 2 is only used to allow travellers coming from the Hong Kong International Airport to alight except when you buy a Morning Express Ticket to Hong Kong and use Platform 2 on Mondays to Saturdays.

[edit] Entrances/Exits

There are 4 exits in Kowloon Station. They are exits A, B, D1 and D2. Since there is basically nothing but some newly developed apartment blocks around the station, it doesn't really matter which exit you go out of. Disabled access is available at Exit B.

[edit] Transport Connections

[edit] Bus Routes

To To Kwa Wan:

  • 11 (Exit A)

To Tsim Sha Tsui:

  • 8 (Exit A)

[edit] Cross Harbour Buses (Exit D2)

Kowloon Station is located in proximity to the Kowloon entrance/exit of the Western Harbour Tunnel. There, you can find bus stops with routes that go towards different parts of Kowloon and the New Territories. The bus stop can be reached through Exit D2 and then by walking across a footbridge above the toll plaza. Commuters can also get onto the buses that lead to Hong Kong Island, but that is not recommended since it costs more to change between modes of transport.
