Kotar (god)

The Canaanite god of smiths and the forge. By extension, Kotar was the patron of arts and sciences generally, as well as architecture, engineering and poetry. He was the builder of the homes of the gods and the provider of their weapons and tools. In later times he became synchretized with the Egyptian Ptah to a degree, and in that role he was located at Memphis.
