Kostas Sommer

Kostas Sommer, (Greek: Κώστας Σόμμερ), (born May 17, 1975) is a Greek actor who has appeared in numerous Greek movies and TV shows. In 2005 he appeared in the Hollywood film Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo starting Rob Schneider as the Greek gigolo Assapopoulos Mariolis. This role is Sommer’s first Hollywood role, after nailing his only audition since arriving in Los Angeles.
Born and raised in Greece, Sommer attended the German School of Athens. He was bit by the acting bug as a young boy, and continued working in television and film in Greece. He is a very well known Greek celebrity appearing in numerous magazines as a model before landing roles in big screen film proudctions such as Brides by Pantelis Voulgaris, A Breath's Distance for ATA Studios and Golden Beach. Some of his television credits include Love Came From A Far, Aliki, and The Bachelors. He has also appeared in several broadway plays include playing the part of Joe Bonaparte in Golden Boy and Liliom. He enjoys extreme sports as well as skydiving, jetski, speed boat, car and motorcycle racing/stunts. Some of his other hobbies include kickboxing, sailing, scuba diving, track & field and firearms. He currently lives between Athens and Los Angeles Sommer made a guest appearance during the April 2006 Miss Star Hellas, (Greek: Μις Σταρ Ελλάς) pageant. He is currently starring opposite actress Fay Zafeirakou, (Greek: Φαίη Ζαφειράκου), in the Greek TV series Tis agapis mahairia (Greek: Της αγάπης μαχαιριά), (The Knives of Love} by Stratos Markidis for ANT1. This series has a personal connection to Kosta since the story is based in Creten traditions.[1] In addition to the series, Sommer is also rumored to be the host for the Greek version of the reality show Fear Factor, scheduled to air this fall on ANT1.[2]
