Korey Banks

Korey Banks (born August 15, 1979 in Boynton Beach, Florida) is a defensive back for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League. He wears number 24 and went to Mississippi State University. Banks has played 3 years in the CFL, is 5'11" tall and weighs 178 lbs. In 2003, he signed as an undrafted rookie with the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League. He was waived after training camp on August 31st, 2003. The Dolphins put him of waivers and he was assigned to the practice squad on November 11th. On November 24th, he was released by the Dolphins. Miami re-signed him on December 31st, 2003 and he played in their last 2 games. He was acquired by the Ottawa Renegades in a late season trade in 2004. He was on Edmonton's practice roster. He had 7 tackles in 3 games for Ottawa. Korey had an amazing 2005 season with a league-leading 10 interceptions, 2 touchdowns, 44 tackles, 12 pass knockdowns, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery. When the Renegades were suspended after the 2005 season, Banks was drafted in the 1st round, 6th overall, by the BC Lions in the 2006 Ottawa dispersal draft. Korey recorded a touchdown and 7 interceptions on his first season with the Lions in which he helped them win the 94th Grey Cup. He has 2 sons, Korey Jr. and Kamden, and is cousins with Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin and former Miami Dolphins running back Autry Denson.
