Korea Newswire is the commercial newswire service that distributes press releases to Korean media and internet portals. It was established by Dongho Shin, a Korean journalist, in July 2004. The headquarter is located in the city center of Seoul. As of Oct 2006, 8 thousand Korean companies, government bodies and organizations are using Korea Newswire's service to distribute their press releases to Korean major newspapers and broadcasting stations like Chosunilbo, Joongangilbo, MBC, SBS. Korea Newswire have both paid service and free service. Korea Newswire started it's paid service in 2005. About 3 thousand Korean journalists are the members of the Korea Newswire service. Korea newswire also distribute Korean companies English press releases to Factiva and Google news.
