Koppal (Kannada ಕೊಪ್ಪಳಾ) is an administrative district in the state of Karnataka in India. The district headquarters are located at Koppal. Koppal district has four talukas, namely, Koppal, Gangavati, Yalburgi, Kushtagi.
The approximate distances of the taluka head-quarters from the district head-quarters are as follows.
Gangavati - 48km Kushtagi - 50km Yalburgi - 40km
Long time ago, the name of this city of Koppal was 'Kopana nagara'.
Hampi, a World heritage center, covers some areas of Koppal District. Situated approximately 38km.
Anegundi, is also a famous travel destination.
