[edit] NPOV please kthx
What on earth? This article is phrased as an attack piece. What's going on here? - David Gerard 20:20, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
- I am trying to sort out the fact and fiction of what so-called "legal actions" are involved, but I have been contacted by Dallas about possible suit v. WMF. Nuff said. I do not take kindly to people representing that there are legal actions/suits/proceedings/whatever when it turns out there aren't any. As to this page, is it WP:V? AfD? With all due respect to practitioners of martial arts, this is substandard in *any* field.--BradPatrick 13:49, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- See below - my earlier statement regarding a lack of actual lawsuit was incorrect! --BradPatrick 16:13, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
I agree with Brad Patrick's edit before 74.41.28.27 's edit. I was goint to edit the page some, more specifically delete the second paragraph but it seems someone beat me to it. I believe 74.41.28.27 should state why it is "incorrectness."
Also: I think the weapons paragraph should stay in the discussion section. But it seems to me it would work together being merged with one of the other paragraphs. Hmmm... TrueGamerOmega 22:40, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Mr. Ingram, you need to really be careful here. I am not your lawyer, do not represent you, and frankly don't care what the outcome is, but this article is not going to be developed without sources while there is a pending federal lawsuit or in the future. External sources, verifiable sources, and careful encyclopedia fact-checking. This is not your personal bulletin board against Mr. Dallas. Set up your own website if you want a platform to exercise your first amendment rights. That is not what Wikipedia is. Mr. Dallas has been very clear with me about his interest in proceeding with his lawsuit. I see from the docket that you have been served. Please do yourself a favor and let that be the focus of your attention for a while and not this page.--BradPatrick 12:33, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
I try to use the best accessable sources possible to present information. I definantly used sources for the weapons section. If you wish I can cite my sources for the weapons discrepancies.
Also, our first amendment rights are being stomped on by Konigun's lawsuit. Although, I have been planning to set up a page on my site about Konigun.
I will gather sources and present them here in order to aid in the discussion. TrueGamerOmega 01:46, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
I've noticed that I was acting brash about the discussion and I will hold off on it for a great deal of time. More specifically, until after the lawsuit is over and I have a easily accessable, archived sources. Plus, I am the webmaster of another martial arts site and I'm too lazy to do both at the same time ^_^ heh... I appologize to Wikipedia, it's members, and any Konigun or former Konigun members who hold no malice to me for my rashness. Thank you. TrueGamerOmega 21:18, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
I recently saw someone claiming to be Bryce Dallas posting on the Stormfront white supremacist page, talking about purging the organization of non whites and inviting Stormfront members to join.
[edit] Lawsuit
This controversy is the subject of a federal lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, Northeast Division, No. 2:06-cv-0005 (filed January 19, 2006), presently pending before Judge Haynes. The suit was filed by several individual plaintiffs pro se, including Bryce Dallas, against a number of defendants, including Kyle Ingram. WMF doesn't "have a dog in this fight", so for the time being, I am going to request that we let the court sort things out, and maintain strict NPOV, win, lose, or draw, depending on which POV you prefer. --BradPatrick 16:13, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
It is perfectly permissible to create an article which neutrally presents the facts about a subject, even when a lawsuit is pending in it. For one thing we can say what both sides of the lawsuit say, as well as any undisputed facts they agree about. We should not simply remove information from Wikipedia because the final state is not known, otherwise we would have to blank many valuable articles. DJ Clayworth 17:41, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
I withdraw the above statement for now. Let's leave this dog sleeping (and enough with the dog analogies). DJ Clayworth 02:49, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
The suit has been dismissed.
Yes, this is true. The lawsuit has been dismissed.TrueGamerOmega 19:03, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
