1. I've got one source saying that Kondo Isami's grandson was killed in the First Sino–Japanese War (1894-1895) and 2 sources saying that he was killed in the Russo-Japanese war (1904-1905.) According to Romulus Hillsborough's Shinsengumi : the Shogun's Last Samurai Corps, Kondo Isami's only grandson, Kondo Hisataro, was killed in the Russo-Japanese War. Seven

2. Since the first, the second and the third generation masters of Tennen Rishin-ryu each adopted a student with superb skills to be the next master, there was NO "Kondo bloodline" to be ended. Seven

According to Tani Tateki, Kondo was properly executed by the new government as a result of being accused of the murder of Sakamoto and even after Imai Nobuo's confession in 1870, Tani insisted that Kondo was not falsely accused for Sakamoto's murder. Seven 06:46, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
