Kolta is a village and municipality in the Nové Zámky District in the Nitra Region of south-west Slovakia.


It is also the name of a community that lives in the Jaunsar Bawar area of Chakrata block in Dehradun district in the Himalayas of north [India]. This low caste is a part of the Jaunsari tribe that is also charachterized by polygamy (although reduced) and some very old customs.

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1337

The village lies at an altitude of 175 metres and covers an area of 25.854 km². It has a population of about 1644 people.

The population is about 96% Slovak and 4% Magyar.
