[edit] Konstable's RfA thanks

Hi KnowledgeOfSelf, thank you for supporting me in my RfA, which was closed as successful last Wednesday with a unanimous support of (47/0/0). I will do my best to help keep Wikipedia clean, green and vandal free. Once again, thank you! --Konstable 14:52, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Basketball

Sorry about that. I can start it up again. (However, I'd appreciate it if you didn't recruit members.) 1ne 18:06, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

No worry, either way, good luck with the project. KOS | talk 21:55, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
So are ya coming back? We could use a member like you. :-) 1ne 05:35, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
I'm undecided, I'll re-add the project and it's talk page to my watchlist, and I'll decide based on the activity level. Thanks for the message, cheers. KOS | talk 18:38, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gothic Fiction Vandalism

The annon user who's edit to Gothic fiction you reverted, has just done it again, despite your warning to him.Natalieduerinckx 15:06, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for telling me, but since you reverted the vandalism yourself, please warn the vandal, and report him to WP:AIV if he continues to vandalize after a final warning, instead of at my talk page. Thanks. KOS | talk 15:19, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] HH block

I don't mind at all. I appreciate it. An indefinite block is definitely wisest. Moncrief 20:36, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Glad you're back

How was your trip to Chicago? I'm glad to see you've returned. DVD+ R/W 18:32, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

It was great until it was cut short by my uncles death which is the reason I returned earlier than expected. Thanks for the message! KOS | talk 18:38, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 151.198.211.130

Continued vandalism by 151.198.211.130 of Manasquan, New Jersey thought you would like to know - so you can block if you want. --Lethaniol 18:36, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, but please list at WP:AIV if a vandal continues after warnings, instead of my talk page. Cheers. KOS | talk 18:38, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
Yeah sure thing - thanks Lethaniol 18:49, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Another test template question

When you said "except the blocked user template", did that also exclude {{test4}} (and {{test4a-n}} and {{test4-n}}, etc.)? —  $PЯINGεrαgђ  21:43, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

No those are fine to use. What I meant was that you shouldn't use the {{test5}}, {{test6}}, {{test7}}, {{vblock}} etc, etc. Also you should not deny a users request to be unblocked unless you are an admin. Hope that clears it up more! KOS | talk 21:48, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

/me is bored. Tis silent. ... . You getting the picture? I'm going to be up for a couple more so it'd be nice to see some chatter in the channel. Ciao -- Banes 21:08, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Hmpf. -- Banes 22:01, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Nope, I'm a green tick. Tried restarting the old machine? -- Banes 22:08, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Ok, it's not quite the same, but I'll try. The thing is IRC usually takes me about half an hour to connect to it, by which time I'll have passed out, or perhaps died. Keep trying the Skype (restarting it I'm sure you've tried) and I'll try IRC. But really it's nothing pressing I need to discuss, I was just getting so bloody bored, I've been the only poster in there since about 11 this morning (my time). Just wanted to catch up ya know. -- Banes 22:14, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Very well, if you insist. I hold you solely responsible for ruining my precious edit count by the way, it'll reflect poorly now for my rfa next week. By the way I'm on #wikipedia now and I'd appreciate it if you'd come over there, since I'll be tempted to tackle some vandals if I go into vandalism. -- Banes 22:19, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Yo, I require explanation for those last lines said to yourself. -- Banes 21:17, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

Why, thank you; I'm glad someone thinks I'm useful around here... — Knowledge Seeker 06:43, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]  ??

KOS? I am unfamiliar with that word but if this reads true it would see you feel I was seriously attempting to mimic or imitate you? I guess I thought you knew my nature (by that I mean nothing was ever mean spirited or done to belittle or mock you). It was all done for your amusement but unfortunately you were correct and my plan was foiled but a user spotting me immediately. I apolgise and assure you it merely was a (poor) attempt to make you smile after our chat yesterday. Seriously my bad. Apologies wont happen again :( Glen 04:21, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

No it's fine Glen, I'm well aware of your playful nature, and yes I was smiling slightly. I'm more disappointed in the use of WP:POINT, on my behalf. Though it appears everyone else had a nice laugh. Really it's no big deal, please put the matter out of your mind and do not feel bad. KOS | talk 04:45, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism Report

[edit] For my friend KOS

For being my friend and all that goes with it,
I, $PЯINGεrαgђ, give you this cream tart. Enjoy!
I know it's been a while, but that's no excuse not to give you this :)
I would really like to say thank you, however,

since those types seem to be dying out. Keep on, mate!

[edit] Regarding Impersonator

Hello there! Regarding the user that impersonated me, http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&type=block&page=User:Mister+Rudebaker - did you delete the contribs to his user page? I was following up on it and only saw 2 contribs, neither of which were to his user space, something that confused me. Thank you! ✎ Wizardry Dragon (Talk to Me) (My Contributions) (Support Neutrality on Wikipedia) 21:35, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes I did delete his contributions to his user and talk pages. The talk page to remove trolling. KOS | talk 00:33, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Banes

Hi KOS.

Like I've told Impi, I'm afraid I'm not really sure of the actually final reasons of why Banes left. I know he was becoming more and more busy, and he didn't have as much access to a computer as he would like. He did say that it wasn't anything serious or any bitter feelings that made him leave, which is good. He also wanted me to make it known that his departure is not his taking a stand against the cabal or anything like that. I guess that sometimes, people just have to move on for awhile :( However, he did hint that he will be back sometime.....

Hope this answers your question, and if I can be of anymore help, then just tell me :)

AlienLifeForm tugs at Knowlidge's sleeve and points at the biscuit cupboard.

Knowlidge tells AlienLifeForm to ask mum.

AlienLifeForm remembers being locked in the cupboard last time, with nought but stale Garibaldi biscuits to nibble on, backs away and goes to scrounge off someone else.

[edit] Declaration of Independence

Thank you for you reversion of some vandalism on the important and high profile United States Declaration of Independence article. Unfortunately it did not go far enough as another editor found some vile vandalism remaining to revert, as did I by comparing to previous versions. Hu 03:40, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Ah yes I hate it when that happens, anyhow thanks for the message. Cheers. KOS | talk 08:45, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Did you know?

Updated DYK query On 10 December 2006, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article The Compleat Housewife, which you created. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.
--GeeJo (t)(c) • 17:23, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Question: when you write "During 1700's, British books...", do you mean 1700s, as in 1700-1709, or "the 18th century" (1700-1799)? Biruitorul 17:59, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

The "1700s" has always meant "the 18th century" to me. So it is safe to assume that I meant the 18th century. KOS | talk 18:03, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
OK, well, to avoid confusion, I changed it, as 1700s on Wikipedia means the decade rather than the century. Biruitorul 23:06, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Sure thing thanks. KOS | talk 00:35, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] TBS

Apart from the (perhaps correct) inconsistent US usages of no hyphen and breaking some but not other words: errand boy, bestseller etc., and having numbers less than ten in figures and not words, I can't spot anything out of place there :p Good stuff, mon brave. --Alf melmac 13:21, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey dude. Haven't heard from you in such a long while. Glad to see that you are still so involved in Wikipedia. School is taking so much out of me, I can't even find time for my friends lol. Well, take care, and give me a buzz sometime. Orane (talkcont.) 06:45, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey Orane, it has been a while, at least seeing your message gave me something to smile about. I've been busy myself working on an article The Boondock Saints. Check it out! :) KOS | talk 07:32, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rana asif2004

I notice that you gave "Rana asif2004" a warning yesterday (and have admin) ... So you I thought I should mention that said user has spent the past 23 hours systematically blanking & rewriting several articles related to the Bangladesh liberation to make them pro-West Pakistan (which is not merely POV but, according to the references he is systematically trying to remove, patently ridiculous) -- all marked as minor btw. These are the only edits since the user became active yesterday, so ... assuming good faith he might contribute reasonably to articles he's not so (to be blunt) rabidly concerned with, but he also may not be concerned with anything else. --Invisifan 11:37, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the message I'll keep an eye on the situation. Happy editing. KOS | talk 11:40, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
