Knowles Shaw

Knowles Shaw (October 31, 1834June 7, 1878) was an American author and composer noted for his gospel hymns.

Shaw was born in Butler County in southwestern Ohio. He was a member of the non-instrumental churches of Christ, also known as the Christian Church at this time. Perhaps his best known work was the popular Christian hymn, Bringing in the Sheaves.

He died in a train wreck in McKinney, Texas (just out­side Dal­las). He was buried in East Hill Cem­e­te­ry in Rushville, Indiana.
