KNMT is a religious television station in Portland, Oregon, broadcasting locally on analog channel 24 and digital channel 45 as an affiliate of TBN. Founded June 7, 1985, the station is owned by Trinity Broadcasting Network subsidiary National Minority Television. The station's programming is also seen on low-power repeater station K36DG in Longview, Washington.
KNMT is carried on Comcast cable TV on channel 20 from Vancouver to Salem, and on several other cable systems in the area. The station's studio is located in Northeast Portland, Oregon, and its transmitter is located in the West Hills of Portland.
[edit] History
The station began operation in 1989 as Portland's first full-power, full-service religious broadcast station. The station primarily carries the satellite feed from TBN, but it also produces and airs local programming such as Northwest Praise the Lord (religious) and Northwest Focus (public affairs).
As of March 2006, Comcast Cable TV does not carry any of KNMT's digital multicast channels, pending the outcome of legislation regarding Digital must-carry rules for Cable TV.
[edit] Digital services
This station's digital signal, like most other TBN-owned stations, carries five different TBN-run networks: the local TBN channel (simulcasting the analog station) on 24.1, The Church Channel on 24.2, JCTV on 24.3, Enlace USA on 24.4, and Smile of a Child on 24.5.
