Knick-Ei

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Knick-Ei is the nickname of the never-completed Feldstraße Sports Hall in Halstenbek, Germany.

It is an underground sports arena with a glass dome, the construction of which began in 1995. On February 5, 1997 and again on June 26, 1998 the roof collapsed. The hall remained unfinished and is to be demolished.

Nevertheless the Knick-Ei is used as an example of new German architecture in a travel exhibition.
