KMRJ

KMRJ 99.5 or "M99.5" is an alternative rock radio station based in Rancho Mirage in the Coachella Valley of Southern California. Its' low-power signal covers the 30-mile area from the Morongo Basin to Mecca to Mount San Jacinto.

KMRJ is an independently-owned radio station first went on air in July 1998, their alternative rock format targets a young adult audience as well a teen following, according to the Nielsen ratings data. KMRJ is a local sponsor of the Coachella Music Festival, an annual rock concert event in Indio.

Notes: K-News radio is a news/talk station on two dials simutaneously has the same programming on KNWZ 970, Coachella. and KNWQ 1140, Palm Springs. Some high-wattage AM/FM Riverside/San Bernardino and AM/FM Imperial Valley along with Mexicali, Mexico radio stations are received in parts of the Coachella Valley. Certain home radios and car stereo radios receives some high-wattage AM/FM Los Angeles area and San Diego area radio stations, due to their microwave transmittors west of Palm Springs.
