KMPS

KMPS is a Country music station based in Seattle, Washington. The CBS Radio outlet broadcasts at 94.1MHz with its main transmitter operating at 69kw ERP and its three auxiliary transmitters operating at 57kw, 55kw and 53kw ERP. All four of its transmitters are located near Issaquah, Washington. (see FCC query for full details)

Its legacy on FM radio dates back to 1961 when it signed on as KOL-FM. The frequency has seen both Progressive Rock (1969-1975) and Beautiful music (1975-1978 as KEUT) formats, before flipping to its current incarnation in April 1978.
KMPS started its life as a country station in 1975, as KMPS AM 1300. It was a direct challenger to then-dominant country station KAYO 1150 AM. Today, it is one of three Country outlets targeting the Puget Sound region; KKWF and KNBQ are the other two.
KMPS FM 94.1 is currently ranked #1 of 36 Seattle radio stations in Arbitron Ratings Data for Fall of '06.
