KLM Open
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The KLM Open is an annual European Tour golf tournament played in The Netherlands. It was founded in 1912 and was originally known as the Dutch Open and has a variety of title sponsors over the years. It has been part of the European Tour's schedule since the Tour was inaugurated in 1972. In 2006 the prize fund was €1.6 million, which is quite low for a European Tour event in Europe, but higher than the prize money at a few of them and also higher than most of the European Tour's co-sanctioned events outside Europe. Several venues have been used for the event, most frequently Hilversumsche Golf Club, which has been the venue every year since 2001. The tournament has been moved around the calendar a good deal over the years. In 2006 it was staged in August.
