User talk:Klander Brigade

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Greetings! I have listed the articles on your band and its members on Wikipedia:Votes for Deletion, because unless I'm mistaken, you're not yet famous enough for an article in an encyclopedia. You might take a look at this page -- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Music/Vanity_Band_Guidelines -- to see what the bar is. The formatting is great and the writing is good, though -- why don't you try expanding the articles on your musical influences instead? Black Label Society could use some work, for example. [edit] Deletion

I can see your point in this comment. I also find it hard to disagree with your comments and those on the votes for deletion page. If this is what must be done, let it be done. I will save the markup is used to write it and hopefully be back in a few years with a wiki-worth article.

[edit] Again?

Guys, cut it out. Having been previously deleted, your band article can now be deleted without voting. Back in a few years, sure, back in a few weeks, not so much. Put it back on your user page if you want. Mindspillage (spill yours?) 02:39, 5 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Moved back to user space.

Some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article User:Klander Brigade may not be sufficiently well-known to merit articles of their own. The Wikipedia community welcomes newcomers, and encourages them to become Wikipedians. On Wikipedia, each user is entitled to a user page in which they can describe themselves, and this article's content may be incorporated into that page. However, to merit inclusion in the encyclopedia proper, a subject must be notable. We encourage you to write or improve articles on notable subjects.

Please don't move it back to "Klander Brigade", it would just get deleted again.

Sorry, I didn't realize that by changing the name that I'd be taking it out of the user space.

[edit] Image copyright problem RE: Image:SandyHookLighthouseRenovated.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:SandyHookLighthouseRenovated.jpg. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law. We need you to specify two things on the image description page:

  • The copyright holder, and
  • The copyright status

The copyright holder is usually the creator. If the creator was paid to make this image, then their employer may be the copyright holder. If several people collaborated, then there may be more than one copyright holder. If you created this image, then you are the copyright holder.

Because of the large number of images on Wikipedia, we've sorted them using image copyright tags. Just find the right tag corresponding to the copyright status of this image, and paste it onto the image description page like this: {{TAGHERE}}.

There are 3 basic ways to licence an image on Wikipedia:

  • The copyright holder can also release their work into the public domain. See here for examples.
  • Images from certain sources are automatically released into the public domain. This is true for the United States, where the Wikimedia servers are located. (See here for images from the government of the USA and here for other governments.) However, not all governments release their work into the public domain. One exception is the UK (see here for images from the UK government). Non-free licence governments are listed here.
  • Also, in some cases, an image is copyrighted but allowed on Wikipedia because of fair use. To see a) if this image qualifies, and b) if so, how to tag it, see Wikipedia:Fair use.

For more information, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Please remember that untagged images are likely to be deleted.

If you have uploaded other images without including copyright tags, please go back and tag them. Also, please tag all images that you upload in the future.

If you have any questions, just leave a message on my talk page. Thanks again. JesseW, the juggling janitor 07:49, 25 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Marine Academy of Science and Technology

{Please stop deliberately introducing incorrect information into articles. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Cyberevil 14:55, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

I have not been committing this vandalism. This is being done by friends of mine. I am only correcting when it arises. That is why I am pushing for deletion of the incorrect logo that was uploaded. Once again, this is not me. If you look in the history, I'm only entered under where the page has been corrected to its original state. All other IP's are those of my friends. I'm trying to get them to stop. Klander Brigade 20:32, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

OK, I believe you. Tell your friends I'll visit them with the Tirpitz if they don't stop. Cyberevil 04:52, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:USSCOSSATOT.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:USSCOSSATOT.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.

Does the tag {{PD-USGov-Military-Navy-NHC}} apply in this case? I couldn't find the image online.

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Kilroy.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Kilroy.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Note that any unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Image tagging for Image:TwinLights.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:TwinLights.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:
