Please could someone clarify why the articles' subject is Notable under Wikipedia's policy: Wikipedia:Notability (people). Paulleake 21:10, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, it isn't policy, but I would say that the subject clearly falls into the following criterion from Wikipedia:Notability (people):

Major local political figures who receive (or received) significant press coverage
- For example, one of the local papers, the Daily Post (Wales), has started putting some of their articles on the web and their search engine gives 115 article hits for his name in most of which he is a primary topic of the article. Also, the Chester Chronicle (which is over the border and owned by the same company) gives 52 article hits. I've just noticed the rival Flintshire & Wrexham Evening Leader and Flintshire Chronicle too which have 54 search results on their site (direct link doesn't work).
- There's also an argument for other criteria like the last two, but by all means put it on AfD.
