KKBQ, "The New 93Q", is a Houston-based Radio station with a country music format. Its transmitter is located in Missouri City, Texas.

Top 40/KKBQ The New 79Q debuted on 790AM with John Lander and the Q-Morning Zoo on July 2, 1982, meeting instant success and was later moved to FM sister station.

Signed on at KYND 92.5 FM (formerly a "Beautiful music" format KIND 92) as top 40/93KBQ at 6:00 A.M. cst on December 29, 1982. Acquired the KKBQ-FM call letters in 2/83. KKBQ-FM continued to simulcast on KKBQ AM. The station moved months later to 92.9 FM.

Moniker History: 93FM (1983-1985) / Hot Hits 93Q (1985-1987) / Hot 93Q (1987-1988) / 93Q (1988-1991) / Flipped to Country in September 1991 as: 92.9 Easy Country / Relaunched in September 1992 as "Country top 40": Fresh Country Hits 93Q-Country / Currently known as: The New 93Q 52 Minutes of Q-Country Every Hour
