Kjerringøy

Kjerringøy is a former municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The administrative centre was the village Kjerringøy.
It was created when Nordfold-Kjerringøy was split into Kjerringøy and Nordfold on 1 January 1906. At that time Kjerringøy had a population of 857.
On 1 January 1964 Kjerringøy was incorporated into Bodin, its neighboring municipality to the south. The exception was the Brennsund district, which was moved to Steigen. Prior to the merger Kjerringøy had a population of 574. In 1968 Bodin was incorporated into Bodø.
