Kita District, Ehime

Kita (喜多郡; -gun) is a district located in Ehime, Japan.

As of January 11, 2005, the district has an estimated population of 20,782 and a density of 69.4 persons per km². The total area is 299.50 km².

[edit] Towns and villages

Prior to January, 2005 the district contained three more towns and a village which participated in mergers effective January 1 and January 11. As a result of these mergers the former town of Ikazaki is now part of Uchiko and the former towns of Hijikawa and Nagahama as well as the former village of Kawabe are now all part of the city of Ozu.
